CHILDREN'S EYE TESTS & FRAMES
A standard eye test is financially covered under the NHS and subsidised by Dray’s Eyecare for all under 16’s and those under 19 and in full-time education. This eye test covers the testing of sight and health screening of your child’s eyes. If after your child’s eye test, they require glasses, then an NHS voucher for spectacles will be issued. If your child is short-sighted (Myopic) then we would encourage you to look at our KIDS MYOPIA page for an insight into the technological advances that are currently available to your child
We have a selected range of frames that are financially subsidised by the NHS voucher scheme and Dray’s Eyecare, and can be supplied to your child at no cost to yourself. In addition to this range, we have a large and varied collection of frames that can be supplied for a small additional contribution, including frames with sun protection.
In conjunction with the NHS voucher scheme, Dray’s Eyecare offer standard plastic lenses for your child at no charge to yourselves. In addition to the basic lenses, we can for a small extra charge offer lens treatments such as scratch-resistant coatings, anti-reflection coatings, easy clean processes and full ultra-violet blocking or lenses from premium manufacturers, such as Zeiss. The lens options most suitable for your child will be discussed and explained to you fully, during the spectacle dispensing process.
