Daniel qualified as an Optometrist from City University London in 1991 and soon met Lee when they worked together in Oxford. He is now a senior optometrist at the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital after transfering from his position as lead Clinical Optometrist in Luton and Dunstable Hospital. Daniel’s clinical work includes paediatric, adult low vision, diagnosis and management of glaucoma, pre and post operative assessment, specialist contact lenses and diabetic eye disease.
Daniel holds a master’s degree in Clinical Optometry as well as further qualifications in diabetic retinal screening (City & Guilds) and in the care of patients with visual impairment (Royal National Institute of the Blind). Daniel is also a prescribing Optometrist, diagnosing and treating a range of eye conditions. Daniel takes an active interest in the progression of Optometry as a council member for the Association of Optometrists and organises further education for local optometrists. He has lectured to doctors, optometrists and the visually impaired and research interests include visual impairment, contact lenses and prescribing.
